MELT^® is a food for special medical purposes composed of the association of Palmitoylethanolamide, with potassium citrate. The product is intended for subjects affected by urinary stones or with recurrent painful episodes sustained by topical neuro-inflammation and should be used under medical supervision. MELT can be a useful adjuvant in lithotripsy interventions, because of its simultaneous control of tissue neuro-inflammation and of urinary supersaturation in preparation of the stone crushing and expulsion, as well as for a quicker post-intervention recovery of the tissue homoeostasis. For subjects awaiting lithotripsy it is recommended to start the treatment at least two weeks before the intervention, and to follow up for at least two weeks after.
